Welcome to MentorShield ("we", "us", or "our"). By registering, accessing, or using our online tutoring platform at MentorShield.com, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using any part of the MentorShield platform, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or that a parent or legal guardian has agreed on your behalf) and that you accept these terms in their entirety. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
2. Platform Description
MentorShield is an online tutoring platform connecting students with vetted tutors for personalised one-on-one academic sessions. We support eight internationally recognised boards: Cambridge Board, IB Board, CBSE Board, Edexcel Board, AQA Board, OCR, US Common Core, and ICSE, covering classes 3 through 10 with board-aligned subject codes. Enrollment is managed by our academic team; MentorShield facilitates session scheduling, enrollment coordination, and communication, but does not itself deliver academic instruction in sessions arranged between independent tutors and students.
3. User Accounts
You must register with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. Notify us immediately at support@MentorShield.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these terms.
4. Student and Parent Responsibilities
- Attend scheduled sessions punctually and provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
- Treat tutors with respect during all sessions and communications.
- Parents enrolling minor students (Classes 3–10) are responsible for session supervision as appropriate.
- Do not record, share, or distribute session content without the tutor's written consent.
- Provide accurate board, class, and subject information at the time of enrollment to ensure correct tutor matching.
5. Tutor Responsibilities
- Deliver sessions in accordance with the confirmed syllabus, level, and agreed schedule.
- Maintain student data confidentiality and comply with applicable child-safety standards.
- Tutors are independent contractors; they are not employees or agents of MentorShield.
- Tutors must not solicit students for off-platform arrangements during or after engagement on MentorShield.
6. Fees and Payment
Session fees are communicated at the time of enrollment confirmation. Online payment functionality is currently being set up. During this period, our support team will guide enrolled students through fee confirmation and payment arrangements. We will notify all users when online payment becomes available.
7. Refund and Cancellation Policy
If you are not satisfied after your first paid session, contact us at support@MentorShield.com within 48 hours for a full refund. For session packs, unused sessions may be refunded on a pro-rata basis within 30 days of purchase. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a session may not be eligible for a refund at the tutor's discretion. Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days.
8. Intellectual Property
All platform content — including but not limited to the MentorShield brand, study materials, course descriptions, and software — is the intellectual property of MentorShield or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.
9. Prohibited Conduct
Users must not: use the platform for any unlawful purpose; post or transmit offensive, defamatory, or misleading content; attempt to access accounts other than your own; scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with platform infrastructure; or engage in any conduct that harms the experience of other users.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MentorShield is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including any outcomes from tutoring sessions. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
11. Dispute Resolution
In the event of any dispute, please contact us first at support@MentorShield.com. We aim to resolve disputes amicably within 14 business days. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Uttarakhand, India.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms periodically. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
